Some things to keep in mind and a few tips to streamline your booking.

Before Booking:

  • For now, this service is generally only available within Corvallis city limits (within a 20 min drive of downtown). Exceptions will be on a case by case basis, but don't be afraid to ask. And with your help, soon Bitshine can cover a much larger service area!

  • Time frames will be given in 30 minute windows but can be subject to change (rarely). You will be notified if your cleaning can be moved up or will fall outside the scheduled time.

  • Your devices will need to be accessible on every side. Devices can be unplugged and moved if needed but adequate work space must be available in the immediate vicinity.

  • Devices must be fully functional. Sorry but we don't clean broken electronics as there is no way to verify we haven't damaged them.

  • Please have your device plugged in but powered down. This is so our technician can record the boot sequence and check the device tree for any errors prior to cleaning. 

  • Refunds will not be given unless your device is damaged by the technician or cleaning process.

  • Bitshine is a receptionless service. Not having people waiting by the phone helps keep costs (and therefore prices) low. Please use the contact form below, text, email, or leave a voice message.

  • Please include your preferred method of contact. Text messages have the fastest turn around but no matter how you prefer to be contacted you will receive a reply within 3 business days.

  • No money up front. Technician will accept payment upon completion of service. Cash or credit is accepted, checks are not.

  • Please see our CLEANING TIPS page regarding PSUs and residual dust.

  • We are happy to reschedule your cleaning up to 24 hrs prior to your booking, though volume rates may no longer apply. Late changes, no-shows, or prohibitive circumstances (such as no suitable work area) will be charged a $20 fee, even if the scheduled cleaning can not be completed. That said, we will flex as much as possible to ensure your devices get cleaned and you have a great experience with Bitshine. Cancellations caused by circumstances beyond your control can be rescheduled for free and retain the discount price, even for a single device.

  • Deep cleaning can take as little as 30 min, but please allow up to 1 hr. Device will not be usable during cleaning.

  • At present, we can service a maximum of 12 computers in one day, however, if you schedule a large booking that spills over into multiple days the volume discount will still apply. Even if we have to come back just to clean 1 last device.

  • Bitshine is paperless! Invoices will be submitted electronically ​via email or text.

  • As of now: Due to scheduling constraints only Saturday, Sunday, and Monday are fully available. Tue-Fri will have only very limited bookings from 5pm or later. 

How to Book:

Single bookings are fairly straightforward. Simply fill out the form on our BOOK NOW page with all necessary information. We just need to know what we're cleaning, when, and where. We will respond with a confirmation within 3 business days. Since there won't be a live person to answer the phone we recommend using the contact form, though leaving a voicemail works just fine. Please request dates and times in the form of a window rather than a specific time.

Rather than: "Can I schedule cleaning at 1pm Thursday April 12th?"

Try: "I'm available from 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-Noon on weekends."

We'll respond with the nearest available time frame and if it falls on a day you have plans simply write back and we'll try another time or day. The fastest response time will be via text so check "ok to text" on the contact form.

 

We like to have a contact person to show us where the devices are but they don't need to be present during cleaning. Though we're happy to teach others how to service computers if they'd like to watch. Once cleaning is complete we'll need someone to sign off on our work and accept the invoice.

Group Bookings:

Group bookings work exactly the same way, just with multiple parties. This usually just means having a main contact person on the booking but adding addition address and/or phone numbers in the "comments" section. Hopefully the examples below are helpful. The point of the volume discount is that it's far more efficient to service many computers at once, so we can offer a much better rate. But to receive the volume discount bookings need to be in the group format. This is to prevent 10 different parties from requesting the same time frame and/or making changes independent of the other parties. We can issue separate invoices for each party, but please schedule group cleanings in a single large block of time under a single name.

A real live person will review your request and help you clarify or make any needed changes. A confirmation will be given to ensure all essential information is correct.
